medical appointments, shopping, church, school,
etc. CT RideNet can help. If you meet the below guidelines and are willing to help others who need a ride you may qualify for the Drive to own program. Or, if you just need some help purchasing a vehicle, CT RideNet will make a referral to a participating dealer.
To qualify
for a Drive To Own vehicle you must have:
- Clear driving record
- Clear criminal record
- 10 years of local driving experience
- Pass a physical
- Be willing to take defensive driving course
- Be available 6 or more hours/week to drive
others who need a ride
In return you will be assisted with purchasing
a reliable vehicle with a maintenance program.
You will have an actual loan on a car, but you
can use credits from driving to help with payments.
When all payments are made, you can continue to
help others by providing rides, but the car is
yours!
